Questions from Individuals

What is Everyclick?

How does Everyclick work?

Everyclick works just like any other major search engine, but the difference is that you can raise money for your favourite charity.

Revenue is generated by advertisers who pay for sponsored listings within our search results, banner advertising and revenue from commissions paid by retailers who are listed within our shopping search.

Half of Everyclick's revenue is allocated to charity each month. The amount each charity receives is entirely proportional to the amount that their supporters use Everyclick.com.

The more people who use Everyclick, the more money that is raised for charity. It's a great way to give for free.

Are the search results as good as the search engine I am using now?

Everyclick is powered by Ask.com so you'll get the same high-quality search results.

Do users or charities ever have to pay anything?

No. Everyclick provides a way for people to support their favourite charity for free. The money comes from the Everyclick advertisers and retailers.

Getting started

How do I get started?

Find your favourite charity by entering all or part of your charity's name in the Everyclick search box. You can choose from over 170,000 UK charities. Once you have found the charity you want to support, select 'Fundraise for this charity now - go' and complete the simple sign up process.

We will then put a 'cookie' on your PC so that every time you return to Everyclick to search the web we recognise you and allocate your activity to the charity you have selected.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a text-only string that is entered into the memory of your browser. It enables Everyclick to remember your charity and fundraiser settings every time you return to our site. Without cookies we cannot personalise your Everyclick experience. If you loose or clear your cookies you can reset your settings by signing back in to Everyclick.

Do I have to register to use Everyclick?

No, you can use Everyclick without registering; you will be raising money for all the charities on Everyclick.

Will my profile be visible on the website?

You can choose for your profile to be visible, name only or completely hidden. With name only, other people will only be able to see your name underneath the charity you support. They will not be able to see your fundraiser page.

Using Everyclick

Do I have to sign in each time?

You don't have to sign in each time you return to Everyclick. You can sign in if you would like to change your details or your charity.

If you find Everyclick is not remembering you when you return to the site (the amount raised for your charity should be shown on the home page and on other pages), you can try one of the following:

  • You may have cleared your cookies, sign in again to reset your Everyclick cookie.
  • You may have changed your charity but your old bookmark or link contains information about your previous charity - re-save your home page or save a new bookmark, whichever you usually use to go to Everyclick.
  • Your browser may have had cookies disabled. Check under Internet Options for your Security settings.

How do I change my email address?

You can change your email address when you sign in or via my Everyclick link to the right of the search box.

How do I change my password?

You can change your password by going to my Everyclick using the link to the right of the search box. On the My Settings tab you can change your password.

My charity is no longer displayed on the website?

Your charity is no longer displayed as your settings have been cleared. Please sign in to your profile.

If you have not yet completed registration, you will see the 'sign up' button on the bottom of your profile details form. Once you have completed this, you can sign in and change your details at any time, including your charity.

Your settings will be cleared each time you clear your cookies.

Occasionally charities are formally deregistered by the Charities Commission etc. In these cases you will receive an email from us informing you that we have removed the charity you support and asking you to select a new one.

How do I make a credit card donation to charity?

On each charity's page there is an option to donate to that charity. You can donate to any charity, not just the one you have chosen to support while you search the web. All donations made are visible on the my Donations tab of your profile page.

How do I add a charity that I want to support if it's not there?

At the bottom of the charity search results page, you will see the question 'Do you want to add your charity?' Follow the 'I want to support it' link.

The link will take you to Charities Trust who is our payment partner. Once you have added the charity's details on the form provided, the details will be validated by Charities Trust and the charity will appear on the Everyclick site in about 24 hours. You will receive and email informing you when it's there.

How can I view News headlines

You can view headlines on our News portal page. To access this simply click on the News link above the search box without entering a search term. You can view our other portal pages by clicking the other headings in the same way.

Can I support more than one charity, or not chose a charity at all?

Yes. You can support as many charities as you like, but only one at a time.

You don't have to support any charity in particular, you can choose to support 'All Supported Charities'. The money you raise will be apportioned across all the charities on Everyclick.

Why do I keep being asked if I want to change my charity?

If you keep seeing the 'clash message' when you enter the site then you need to save a new version of the home page or bookmark. The address that you usually enter the site at contains information about a different charity to the one you are supporting.

Sign in and return to the home page by using the Everyclick logo in the top left hand corner of the page and save this as your home page or your new bookmark.

Fundraising groups

How do I join or leave a group?

To join an existing group, search for the name of a fundraiser under the 'fundraisers' search function. You will only be able to join those who have set their profile to 'fully visible'.

Click 'Join this fundraiser'; you will be taken to your profile details form which will state at the top the name of the fundraiser you are joining and the charity they support. If you choose to join a fundraiser's group, you will automatically start supporting the same charity as they do. Once you have joined the group, you can change your charity.

Please allow up to three minutes for changes to display on the website, although you can carry on searching as your new charity will benefit straight away.

To leave a group, find either your own page or another fundraiser you want to join and 'Join this fundraiser'.

How do I get people to join my group?

Visit your 'Spread the word page' for lots of ideas on how to spread the message. You can send a specially configured email, add Everyclick to your Facebook profile or download a badge for your blog or website to name a few!

Do I have to support the same charity as others in my fundraising group?

No, once you have joined a group you can change your own selected charity but still remain within that group.

Shopping through Everyclick

Am I paying more to shop through Everyclick?

No. Shopping through Everyclick is exactly the same as going directly to the retailer's website.

Once I shop through Everyclick, do all of my purchases at that retailer then generate funds for my charity?

As long as you go to the retailer's website via Everyclick Shopping each time, your purchases will generate funds for your charity. The retailer is able to register where you have come from and can allocate a donation to Everyclick.

We have added some of the most popular shops to my Favourites box on the search results page to make it even easier to shop through Everyclick.

Is shopping through Everyclick secure?

Yes. Everyclick does not collect any credit card information. The entire transaction is carried out through the merchants just as if you had gone directly to their website.

Why is there a delay between when I make a purchase and when it shows up on the amount raised for my charity?

Retailers take up to eight weeks to report their sales back to us from the time of your purchase. Commissions are allocated based upon the volume of searches that charity has received.

Just search for your charity using the search box above and then use the preconfigured marketing tools provided. There's a great range: search boxes, email signatures, posters, 7ft blue mice ...!

Do you offer preconfigured marketing tools for all charities?

Yes, they are all available on your charity detail page. Just use the search box above to search for your charity and go to information for charity staff where you will find all your preconfigured tools.

Why has the number of fundraisers for our charity changed?

Fundraisers can change the charity they support more easily than on the previous Everyclick website. Some people may decide to support a different charity each month.

My charity's total raised has suddenly increased. Why?

Now that people can make credit card donations to charities, the most likely reason is that someone has made a donation to your charity. You charity total figure now includes the amount rasied by searching and credit card donations.
