The Arnold Foundation for Rugby School won the small charities category and was runner up overall behind Diabetes UK.
The judges were so impressed that such a small charity with a specific, local remit was able to generate so much attention and support for its campaign that they will receive a prize of a local poster campaign with Clear Channel Outdoor.
The Arnold Foundation answered 'yes' to all of our questions on the Charity Challenge entry form:
They also had this to say in support of their entry:
"Rugby School wanted to spread the word about its in-house charity, the Arnold Foundation for Rugby School, amongst its pupils and felt Everyclick was a fantastic way to do this without asking pupils to give their own money at this stage in their lives.
"Funds raised through searching on Everyclick.com will go towards helping fellow pupils whose parents are unable to afford the fees at Rugby. The School hopes to fund 10% of the School's pupils through various fundraising activities, making Rugby School the only independent school to do this, and Everyclick engages pupils at the very start of what we hope will be a lifetime of support for the Foundation.
"The School's Thursday afternoon IT classes were tasked with coming up with ways to promote Everyclick amongst fellow pupils. They first of all decided to work out how to put a countdown on the School's intranet, counting down to the launch day for Everyclick. They also prepared an email to go out to all pupils on the launch day, and also some text to go on the intranet after the launch. A speech was devised and delivered by one of the pupils in the School chapel on launch day, by which time all pupils were agog to know what the end of the countdown would mean!
"The local press came along on the launch day and took photos of the IT pupils and the Everyclick mouse, and the photos were posted on the School's website along with the article.
"Matrons in houses were given posters, post-it notes and mugs to persuade them to promote Everyclick to pupils in their houses, and regular internal emails have been sent out by the IT pupils to remind everyone to keep searching with Everyclick.
"We also promoted Everyclick to old boys and girls in our monthly newsletter to them, and put a search box on the Foundation's website. A link was also put on staff emails.
"Since then there have been several articles in local and national newspapers and magazines.
"Pupils would like to see the Head Master in the mouse suit, but this has yet to be agreed, but we are working on it!" - The Arnold Foundation for Rugby School
